Apple Cranberry Crunch

This is my twist on apple crisp. It’s tangy, sweet, and so delicious it never lasts long! Just another way to use my homemade Cranberry Chutney! It’s good over the holidays, but awesome any time of the year.

  • 2-3 medium apples
  • 1 cup cranberry chutney or prepared cranberry sauce
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ tsp. cinnamon
  • ¾ cup packed brown sugar
  • ¾ cup butter

Serves 6-8

Preheat oven to 350º.

Peel, core, and finely chop apples. Place in 9 inch pie pan, or 8 inch square pan. Spoon cranberry chutney or sauce over apples and toss to mix. In a medium sized bowl mix oats, flour, cinnamon, and brown sugar together with fingers. Cut in butter until it resembles small peas. Sprinkle over top of apple and cranberry mixture. Bake in oven for 35 minutes until topping is lightly browned. Serve warm as is, or with a dollop of vanilla ice cream on top.
