Broccoli & Cheese Quiche

This is a wonderful dish to make for breakfast, brunch, or even dinner!  You can easily substitute ingredients for other things such as chopped ham, bacon, cooked ground sausage, or spinach.  Easy, and delicious!

  • 9″ Pie Shell (unbaked)
  • 2 tbsp. butter
  • 1 small onion minced
  • 1 ½ cups chopped broccoli
  • 1 ½ – 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 6 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • ¼ tsp. salt
  • ½ tsp. ground black pepper
  • ½ tsp. garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp. melted butter.

Preheat oven to 350°.

Brown onions in the 2 tbsp. butter until golden brown.  Add broccoli to skillet and toss with onions.  Cook for 4-5 minutes.  Spoon onto crust.  Sprinkle shredded cheese over top.

Combine eggs with milk, salt, pepper, and the last tbsp. of butter.  Beat until completely mixed.  Pour over veggies and cheese in pie shell.  Cover edges of crust with foil.  Place in oven on middle rack.  Bake 40-50 minutes until lightly browned on top, and center is set.  Remove foil from crust for last 5 minutes of cooking.  Remove from oven and allow to cool on wire rack for at least 10 minutes before slicing.
